Forgotten password
Your recovery key is the second key to the same lock. Enter it with a new password and both are replaced at once — your message key itself does not change, so everything already sent to you stays readable.
Who has a recovery key
Every advocate who has set up a message key has one, and it is the most recent key you were shown — using it here replaces it with another. If you registered before message keys existed and never set one up, no key was ever issued to you and this page cannot set a new password: nothing of yours is sealed under one, and nothing here can prove who you are without it. While you still know your password, sign in and set up your message key, and you will be given one.
This page is for an advocate's own account
If your advocate opened a client account for you, there is no recovery key on it — ask them to invite you again, and they will start a fresh conversation with you. The client door explains what that means. If you were invited to a matter as briefing counsel, nothing of yours is encrypted under your password: ask the advocate who invited you to send a new invitation.
