Terms for Employees
Associates and clerks — members employed by the firm.
1. Scope of use
Placeholder — what an employed member may use the firm's account for, and that the access is the firm's rather than their own.
2. Confidentiality and privilege
Placeholder — the employee's obligation over privileged material, during the employment and after it ends.
3. Data handling
Placeholder — client data the employee touches: what may be copied or removed, and what must be returned or left behind.
4. Acceptable use
Placeholder — what the account may not be used for, and what the employee must report rather than act on alone.
5. Termination of access
Placeholder — how access ends when the employment does, and which obligations outlive it.
Which of the two documents binds you follows from your rank in the firm — partner or employed — and never from your seat on a single matter. An associate leading a matter is still employed by the firm.
Acceptance is taken at registration, where both documents are accepted at once, and which version you accepted is recorded against your account. When a version moves, you are asked again before you carry on using the product.
Nobody has been named yet to answer questions about your personal information.
