Terms for Practising Partners
Managing partners and partners — members who practise on the firm's own account.
1. Scope of use
Placeholder — what a partner may use the firm's Legatio account for, and the authority they hold over matters, members and client relationships in it.
2. Confidentiality and privilege
Placeholder — the partner's own obligation over privileged material, and their responsibility for the members they supervise.
3. Data handling
Placeholder — client data held in the firm's account: what leaves it, on whose instruction, and what happens to it when the partnership changes.
4. Acceptable use
Placeholder — what the account may not be used for, and the partner's position when a member of their firm does it.
5. Termination of access
Placeholder — how a partner's access ends, what becomes of the matters and files under it, and what survives the ending.
Which of the two documents binds you follows from your rank in the firm — partner or employed — and never from your seat on a single matter. An associate leading a matter is still employed by the firm.
Acceptance is taken at registration, where both documents are accepted at once, and which version you accepted is recorded against your account. When a version moves, you are asked again before you carry on using the product.
Nobody has been named yet to answer questions about your personal information.
